On Tuesday, President Trump called all five branches of the U.S. Military via videoconference to wish them an “amazing Christmas” while spending his vacation in Palm Beach, Florida at “the Southern White House” Mar-a-Lago Club.
According to the Associated Press, the call included “Marines in Afghanistan, an Army unit in Kuwait, a Navy ship in the Gulf of Aden, an Air Force base in Missouri and a Coast Guard station in Alaska.
He praised the armed forces for their brave an valiant efforts to take out ISIS and their caliphate, along with slain leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. “You make it possible for us to do what we have to do,” President Trump said, thanking them again for their service.
When asked about his own Christmas plans by the troops and what he’d gotten for First Lady Melania, Trump said he’d bought her a “beautiful card,” but hadn’t gotten her a present yet.
“You made me think. I’m going to have to start working on that real fast,” he said.
President trump is expected to spend the holiday at Mar-a-Lago, but he may make an unexpected visit to the troops, as he did by visiting Army forces in Afghanistan for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Mr President. My husband and I pray for you daily. In spite of all that you have had to deal with in the last 3 years, you have made amazing changes in our country. God Bless you and Melania.
