According to a new report from The Hill, it has been revealed that former President Barack Hussein Obama has been “going to bat” for Democrat presidential candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren, instead of his former Vice President Joe Biden.
The Hill writes, “behind the scenes in recent months, former President Obama has gone to bat for Warren (D-Mass.) when speaking to donors reluctant to support her given her knocks on Wall Street and the wealthy.”
It was also revealed that his praise has “stopped short of an endorsement of Warren in these conversations and has emphasized that he is not endorsing in the Democratic primary race.”
But Obama has also vouched for Waren’s credentials, making it known in private conversations that he sees her as a capable candidate.
One Democrat Donor says, “He obviously thinks she’s very smart. He thinks her policy ideas matter. And I think he sees her running the campaign with the most depth.”
The near-endorsement by Obama will indefinitely hurt former Vice President Joe Biden, and may hurt other candidates, such as former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro.
