On the sixth Democrat presidential debate stage this week, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) blasted South Bend, IN Mayor Pete Buttigieg for holding a fundraiser at a Napa Valley “wine claim,” which she claimed served $900 bottles of wine to billionaires.
But according to a Washington Post op-ed by Bill Wehrle, who was at the event, the wine served at the event was $150 per bottle, not $900, and he only paid a staggeringly low $11 to attend the event, because he already maxed out on his contribution to Buttigieg.
Wehrle also mentions that it didn’t appear many “millionaires and billionaires” attended, noting college kids, local city councilors, and business owners as attendees. He also mentions that he is not a billionaire.
Elizabeth Warren has been blasted for having swanky events with millionaires and billionaires herself, raising eyebrows on all sides of the aisle, as they try to skirt under the rug how they pay for their campaigns.
