Poll: Trump beating every 2020 Dem in 3 battleground states, leading by double digits in WI

A new FirehouseStrategies/Optimus poll released Sunday reveals how the Democrats’ impeachment inquiry, which is not supported by a single Republican member of Congress, is helping President Trump in three key battleground states.

In Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, President Trump won by an average of six percentage points in a hypothetical head-to-head against every 2020 Democrat candidate, including former Vice President Joe Biden, South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), and Bernie Sanders (D-VT), and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

In Michigan, Trump would beat Biden by five points, Warren by nine points, Sanders by six points, Buttigieg by eleven points, and Bloomberg by eleven points.  In Pennsylvania, Trump would beat Biden by five points, Warren by seven points, Sanders by ten points, Buttigieg by six points, and Bloomberg by four points. In Wisconsin, Trump would beat Biden by nine points, Warren by 13 points, Sanders by 13 points, Buttigieg by ten points, and Bloomberg by 12 points.

The survey also found that “impeachment and removal [are] opposed by 50.8% of voters in Michigan, 52.2% of voters in Pennsylvania, and 57.9% of voters in Wisconsin. Non-partisan voters in Michigan (70%) and Wisconsin (61%) oppose impeachment and removal while non-partisan voters in Pennsylvania slightly support it (46.4% to 40.9%).”

Margins of error for the poll vary by question and segment but is generally ± 4.1% in WI, ± 4.3% in MI, and ± 4.3% in PA for the topline results.
