SCOTUS temporarily blocks subpoena for President Trump’s tax returns

On Monday, the Supreme Court granted a “continuing emergency block,” which stymied a subpoena for Trump tax returns.

The blow to Democrats is just the latest development in the Democrat-led House Oversight Committee’s attempts at taking away President Trump’s right to privacy.

The decision gave the president’s legal team better news than from lower leftist-leaning courts that ruled against his arguments and left the Supreme Court as his last chance to shield his records from being examined.

“The court should grant the stay. This is a significant separation-of-powers-clash between the President and the Congress,” said William Consovoy, trump’s counsel leading on the case.
