On Monday, during President Trump’s invitation of the World Series world champions, the Washington Nationals to the White House, one player made a bold and quite unlikely statement in front of the nation.
Before catcher Kurt Suzuki took to the stage, he put on his red “Make America Great Again” campaign hat, and declared “I love you all! I love you all!” to the eager audience, as he stood with his teammates, President Trump, and First Lady Melania Trump. All his teammates seemed to be pleased with his wardrobe choice and clapped along.
In the liberal city of Washington, DC, it is unclear how fans will react to Suzuki’s political beliefs, however it is undeniable that he, along with his fellow teammates are all world champions, a title all should be proud of.
Suzuki’s bold statement comes as backup pitcher Sean Doolittle (who did not play a single game of the World Series) refused to attend the ceremony due to his hatred for America’s 45th President.
During the presentation, player Ryan Zimmerman presented the President was presented with a Washington Nationals jersey. He thanked the President for “keeping everyone safe here in our country.”
Love you NATs! Thank you for your RESPECT! Other teams…..take notice. Real Champions!
