On Monday, it was announced that E. Jean Carroll, a woman who claims to have been sexually assaulted by President Trump in a 1990’s dressing room, filed a defamation lawsuit in a New York court for the President claiming she lied about the far-out accusation.
Carroll first made the allegation in a New York magazine article in June. At the time, Trump said she was “totally lying” and called her “not my type.”
Trump also said he had never met Carroll, which he still contends today.
Although Caroll is now trying to walk back the assault itself, she’s still trying to take down the President for defamation, saying “While I can no longer hold Donald Trump accountable for assaulting me more than twenty years ago, I can hold him accountable for lying about it and I fully intend to do so.”
In a cringy CNN interview with Anderson Cooper, Carroll said, “I think most people think of rape as being sexy,” which was met with raised eyebrows on both sides of the aisle.
Carroll claims that as a result of Trump’s statements she suffered emotional pain, as well as reputational and professional harm. She is seeking a retraction of the statements from Trump, as well as unspecified monetary damages.
Here we go again…the idiot crawling out from under a rock to make sexual assault accusations against our President…bought and paid for liars.
