On Monday, while speaking to the International Association of Chiefs of Police conference in Chicago, IL, President Trump used strong rhetoric toward criminals who target or murder cops.
President Trump declared, “Criminals who murder our police should get the death penalty” in his longwinded speech.
Trump continued, “To keep you safe, I’ve made $600,000,000 worth of surplus military equipment available to local law enforcement. If you remember, the previous administration didn’t want to do that. Nobody knew why.”
The President also announced that he will be signing an Executive Order to tackle the systemic challenges that burden our law enforcement.
Trump also confronted the elephant in the room — the absence of the Chicago Superintendent of Police, who bashed Trump, despite his allegiance to American police officers.
Trump said, “There is one person who is not here today. We are in Chicago. I said ‘where is he? I want to talk to him.’ In fact, more than anyone else, this person should be here because maybe he could learn something. And that’s the Superintendent of Chicago Police, Eddy Johnson. A few days ago, Johnson said ‘the values of the people of Chicago are more important than anything President Trump would have to say.’ — I don’t think so. Because that’s a very insulting statement after all I’ve done for the police.”
After the speech, President Trump sent out a “thank you” tweet to attendees of the conference.
