After President Donald Trump announced the death of ISIS terrorist group leader Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, a reaction from the “Squad” was hard to find, with most members of the radical far-left group refusing to put out public comment on the U.S. victory.
Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) commented on Twitter “Abu Bakr al Baghdadi was an evil man and a terrorist, who terrorized the world with violence and a message of hate. The world is a safer place without him. We have deep gratitude for the brave men and women who carried out this dangerous operation.”
Omar also retweeted a post by The Intercept’s Mehdi Hasan applauding the U.S. Victory, reading “On behalf of every Muslim I know…every Muslim watching…good riddance to Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi. Here is a man whose primary victims were Muslims, who was loathed by Muslims…The world is a better place…Good riddance to this piece of human scum.”
The sentiments, which were posted on her personal non-official account appear to be the only statement made by the “Squad” on the subject, with crickets coming from Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley, and Rashida Tlaib.
Despite the leftist group’s potent comments opposing the President and his foreign policy, including the sponsorship of a resolution supporting the pro-Palestinian boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) movement, it appears ¾ of the “Squad” doesn’t seem to see last night’s victory as a step in the right direction, judging by their lack of comment on the monumental achievement by our military.
At the time of the publishing of this article (3:00 p.m. EST), no comments for or against the successful elimination of Al-Baghdadi have been made by either Reps. Tlaib, Ocasio-Cortez, or Pressley.
